36 elderly people are being evicted against
their will from their care home after
Labour Councillors decided
to shut it.
Thanks to this heartless decision, senior
citizens such as 101 year old Louisa Emerton,
will be forced into a heartbreaking move away
from their friends and carers, to another home
in Derby, to be looked after by strangers in
unfamiliar surroundings. Shockingly, this
decision was taken at the time when there were
only 25 council care-home places free in the
city, leaving 11 residents without guaranteed
council care places!
The availability of care home places in Derby
has been allowed to get so bad, that the
Labour
council has put a freeze on admitting any more
elderly people, leaving many of our most
vulnerable people uncertain of their future.
Could it
be that Labour councilors care more about the
£ 3.8 million they will gain from selling
Bramblebrook House, than they care about the
lives of these 36 senior citizens?
If you want to help us stop the closure of
Bramblebrook House and prevent the eviction of
the 36 elderly residents, then please sign our
petition below.
These people have worked hard and contributed
all their life. They deserve respect and care in
their old age.
This is not about politics or money, it's about
people. It's time these councillors were
reminded they serve the people of Derby.
