We will end Labour’s mismanagement of the NHS
and make sure everyone has access to high
quality services at their local hospital.
Under Labour, too much money has been diverted
from patient care to wasteful bureaucracy. Mr.
Brown has imposed 64 central targets on the NHS.
As a result, the Government demands 250,000 data
returns from all NHS organisations every year.
It’s no surprise that the number of NHS managers
is now increasing almost three times as fast as
the number of nurses.
In a Conservative Britain, you will not be
punished for working hard and saving hard.
People should be rewarded, not penalised, for
wanting a better life for your children. Our
message to the family working long hours, saving
every spare pound to afford their first
home is this: your dream is our dream too. Your
aspiration is our aspiration. We will get you
out of tax and into your home.
Our education policy is driven by a moral
imperative: the need to make the most of every
individual talent.
We believe that ensuring every child has an
excellent education is the principal role the
state can play in making opportunity more equal.
A Conservative Government will restore Britain’s
financial reputation by making economic
stability our number one priority.
We will also restore public trust in taxation,
by ending stealth taxes and building a
sustainable, low-tax economy.
Conservatives want to restore trust to the
Pensions system in this country and give
security and dignity to all people in old age.
The Conservative Party is committed to
increasing the Basic State Pension in line with
earnings, not prices, in order to stop the
spread of the means test.
Labour’s policies on welfare reform have failed.
At the moment there are almost 5 million people
on out-of-work benefits, but we believe that can
change. With your help the Conservatives can
build a stronger, more responsible society so
that those who can work, do work.
